American Pie, a cult movie about teenage girls and their sexy adventures with each other, was what led to the making of Reid an Hollywood famous. She was the virgin Vicky in the movie. This did not lead to a successful Hollywood life. Reid had several misfires with unsuccessful movies like Josie and the Pussycats. The brief appearance for her in American Pie 2 did nothing to revive her faltering career. Reid is well-known for her work as a fashion designer or party person rather than an actress owing to her off-screen mistakes, which were widely reported as a disaster plastic surgery, and many blink-and-miss appearances.
