Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than 20 years. She is the controlling owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently acts as the association's president. Buss is a California native Buss was raised in an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon before becoming the owner of Lakers and other enterprises. She felt abandoned emotionally after her parents split in 1972. When she was 19, she began working within the family's company. The team was later renamed the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. In the beginning, she was vice president of Lakers prior to taking over the role of President of the Great Western Forum. Buss and her five sisters were heirs to his Lakers controlling ownership after the passing of Buss' father in 2013. Each of the sisters had equal rights. She was named president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is the owner of Women of Wrestling in Los Angeles the organization which promotes pro wrestling.
